The challenge

Improve the usability of the App and website for Municipium, the multichannel platform most used by Italian municipalities to inform and engage with citizens and local businesses.

Integrate the features of Ecoattivi, an App external to the system that allows users to earn points, manage rankings, and reward citizens’ sustainable actions and behaviors.

The Approach

Collaboration activities throughout the redesign process: from expert evaluation of the App, to co-design sessions with the stakeholders.
Identification of insights from the results obtained after usability testing with users, so as to rethink the flow and structure of some of the main sections and integrate the most challenging features of the Ecoattivi App.

Simplify to include

Optimized flows to make navigation easier on inexperienced users. Font families that are easily readable on small displays. A dedicated iconographic and illustration system to make features and content more intuitive. High color contrast for better clarity and easier readability.
